Interested in Obtaining a Licence to Operate a Heavy Rigid Truck or Vehicle?

The course for obtaining a Heavy Rigid Licence covers the theoretical and practical aspects necessary according to the HVCBA. It also encompasses the final evaluation of competency. Core Driving School aims to equip all students with the necessary skills to pass their assessments with confidence.

AQF and HVCBA assess drivers against specific criteria for safely operating heavy vehicles like trucks and buses. Performing the evaluation subsequently occurs in various circumstances. The evaluator must possess accreditation from Transport NSW and fulfil AQF standards in order to train and evaluate for HVCBA.

At Core Driving School, we handle the training and assessments through different assessors to ensure that the assessor who provides your training is not the same assessor who conducts your Final Competency Assessment.

Vehicles weighing over 8 tonnes and equipped with three or more axles, specifically trucks and buses.

The maximum allowable weight for towed trailers is 9 tonnes GVM.

Despite their articulated design, bendy buses are classified as rigid vehicles.
